The Friendly Trio® supplies 2 billion CFU of three strains of beneficial probiotic bacteria that are powerful and vigorous in their abilities to aid and maintain healthy digestion. They also undertake positive action with our immune system to keep us protected, and harmful organisms in check. These essential living micro-organisms also help us digest our food, produce some B vitamins, protect our gut lining, and assist with elimination.
These probiotics are specifically chosen for their effectiveness and broad spectrum abilities to maintain a healthy gut flora balance. Coupled with the convenience of not requiring refrigeration, they provide value second to none.
Germ warfare? Win with friendly bacteria
Although the word “bacteria” is often associated with illness, balancing your digestive system’s good bacteria keeps you healthy. Specific strains of good bacteria – probiotics – are your allies in the fight against infections, superbugs and food-borne bacteria.
What are probiotics?
“Pro biotic” means “for life.” Probiotics are lactic-acid producing bacteria that live in your intestinal (GI) tract, on your skin, and on mucus membranes – mouth, nose, anus, vagina – and they are vital for life.
Despite their microscopic size, the story behind probiotics is enormous. Since the discovery of their potential health benefits in 1908 (which won the Nobel Prize), probiotics have been explored by scientists globally, and their health effects have been found to reach almost every aspect of the body.
There are about 1000 different bacterial species that can be found in and on the human body, and types and combinations vary within each person depending on your body’s needs, your health, your lifestyle, and even your mother’s health when she gave birth to you. In fact, these non-human life forms make up approx. 90% of you; there are 10 times more bacterial cells in your body than human cells. These personalized bacteria aid digestion, make nutrients (some vitamins are made within the gut), reduce infection and diseases in the intestinal tract, and support your immune system to fight all diseases.
You carry around about three pounds of bacteria in your intestines all of the time, and even bad bacteria like E.coli and salmonella live happily inside you without making you ill. These intestinal bacteria include beneficial microbes that help defend your body against pathogens (harmful bacteria) including salmonella, yeast infections, mold, food poisoning and viruses.
But good and bad can get out of balance due to daily life situations such as eating too much sugar or processed food, which feed destructive microbes, or even touching a door knob infected with a virus. It’s caused from abuse of antibiotics, pollution, and changes to our soil, which traditionally provided healthy bacteria before it was over-farmed.
Invasions from pathogenic bad bacteria disrupt your digestive system, immune system, weight, and skin health, and exacerbate allergic reactions, fatigue and autoimmune diseases. The Friendly Trio® probiotics contains 2 billion live cultures to provide a protective shield against pathogens.
Enerex’s The Friendly Trio® contains 2 billion live cultures of potent bacteria strains called Lactobacillus acidophilus KS-13, Bifidobacterium bifidum G9-1 and Bifidobacterium longum MM-2.
Enerex chose these three types of bacteria because they have been researched to be optimum for a balanced intestinal environment. The Friendly Trio® are obtained from living human micro-organisms, perfected through decades of laboratory culturing. These have been processed to retain viability at room temperature, meaning unlike many other probiotics supplements, they do no need to be refrigerated. These particular strains are used in over 30,000 hospitals and clinics worldwide.
Lactic bacteria are your body’s companions
Lactic bacteria include Acidophilus, which lives in the upper and lower part of your small intestine, and Bifidobacterium, which lives from the lower small intestine to the large intestine (colon). These bacteria (which transform sugar into lactic acid) decrease the pH level of the intestines. This increases acidity and produces substances that suppress bad bacteria.
A gut reaction?
Recent studies have shown that probiotics can help to relieve inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), reduce inflammation in ulcerative colitis, prevent and lessen diarrhea, prevent and manage skin diseases (including eczema), reduce infections including Candida albicans yeast, and decrease constipation.
